Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues,
I am delighted to invite you to our the 2024 MHRC Symposium, which will take place from August 22nd to 24th at the Lotte Resort Buyeo.
Hosted by the Metabolic Disease Tissue Homeostasis Research Center (MHRC), Soonchunhyang Institute of Medi-bio Science (SIMS) at Soonchunhyang University, our symposium has been a cornerstone in advancing metabolism research since our inception in 2019. This year’s theme, "Explore the Metabolism Research", aims to include other disciplines such as stem cell, ageing, and brain and neurobiology fields as the current metabolism research also explores these research area.
We are thrilled to announce that our keynote speaker will be Professor Alan Saltiel, Distinguished Professor of Medicine at UCSD. His talk, titled "Adapting to Metabolic Stress," will focus on the inflammatory links between obesity, type 2 diabetes, and fatty liver. We are also very honored to invite many other prominent scientists and a full list of the speakers can be found here [link].
As always, our symposium will bring together leading scientists from around the globe to share their latest research findings and to network. This gathering is not only a platform for established researchers but also for the budding scientists and students through sessions like the Young Investigator Session and the Poster Presentation Session. In addition, we organized a new session, “Meet the Professors”, for the students and post-doctoral fellows. This will allow young researchers to have a chance to personally meet the speakers for discussing their science as well as their career in science too.
Join us for two days of enriching discussions and opportunities to forge new collaborations in the field of metabolism research. We are proud to facilitate this international exchange of knowledge and ideas, which is crucial for pushing the boundaries of scientific understanding and treatment strategies.
I am looking forward to seeing you soon in Buyeo.
Sincerely yours,
- Jongsoon Lee, Ph.D.
